Kim Delaney, an American actress, is best known for her character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she was awarded the Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her role in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the child of an executive in the United Auto Workers who was also a mother. Delaney has four older brothers. While she was a small girl, Delaney hoped to work as a reporter in the courtroom. However, in high school her modeling career began when she was able to model commercials, she moved to New York. She starred in 1981 as a naive teen in All My Children. Delaney is a well-known actress, appearing in many films, television shows, and dramas. Her personal life unlike her professional life hasn't been a success and has not been happy. The talented actress has struggled with alcoholism in the past and had two marriages that failed. In 2005, she lost custody of the only child she was born with.
